About Death Cafe at New York Public Library:
After several years of running a Mid-Manhattan Library's Death Cafe, Lauren and Marianna would like to wellcome all curious mortals to our Virtual Death Cafe. If you are looking for a place to discuss your mortal and postmortal concerns without being judged, analyzed, categorized, evaluated, or sold a product, we are here for you. We share your earnest belief that not all discussions relating to mortality need to be outsourced to specialists.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
We do not believe that conversations about death ought to be outsoursed to "professionals". Talking about death among friends will provide a unique oportunity to reflect on what really matters. Rather than depressing or morbid, we find talking about death a very positive and life-affirming experience.
What would you like your legacy to be?
We would like to be rembembered for hosting a Death Cafe !
