Lori and Jim hosted this June Death Cafe.Past feedback requested we remain in one room instead of Breakout room We welcomed 3 regualr attendees and 3 new. We are west coast, east coast, and mid west.
Topics on the minds and in the hearts for discussion: end of life planning, grief, and caring for another at end of life.
Appreciation for a space to listen and be heard, validation of "I am not alone" The next Scheduled Death Cafe Albany, CA PDT is July 24th.

Lori and Jim hosted this May Death Cafe. Our first in one room. We agreed to try one room in June. We welcomed 7 regualr attendees and 3 new. We are west coast, east coast, and mid west.
New learning, self reflection, caring and sharing. A feeling of inclusion and welcoming. A some reported enjoying all being in one room instead using a breakout room.

Lori and Jim have hosted this cafe monthly since August 2021 on Zoom. Please join us in March, 4th Sunday, 4PM PST.
Breakout rooms enable us to divide the 16 participants in 2 smaller groups facilitated by Jim and Lori. Participants from across US and Canada. Age range 20s - 80s
Feedback forms received expressed:

We welcomed a few regular attendees and many new arrivals. Zoomed in from around US and UK. Deep listening as we shared our questions, joys, concerns and experiences. An atmosphere of care and respect. We spoke of living more fully as we respond to awareness of our mortality. Some laughter and tears. Prep of Advance Directives, End of life wishes, MAID, grieving, and what do we want to leave. We gather again the 4th Sunday of the month, Jan 23, 2022. Grateful to our Death Cafe Founder. Lori Goldwyn and Jim Kirkpatrick hosted this Cafe, welcoming participants from Australia, New Orleans, East Coast and the SF Bay Area. We randomly broke our group into rooms with 8 people. Laughter and tears and satisfaction. A first Death Cafe for a few participants Most found us via our sponsor Jewish Gateways and others word of mouth. Sharing, caring and deep listening, leaving space for silence and for all to speak. We spoke of loving someone who is dying, grieving, end of life planning with a parent, living wakes, planning our own memorial, ethical wakes and ethical wills. Lori Goldwyn and Jim Kirkpatrick have joined together offering this Death Cafe on the 4th Sunday of the month @ 4PM PDT, Midnight Irish Time.This August 22nd gathering attracted 28 registrants, majority arrived and around half remained for the duration of the 90 minute cafe. Guests from Australia, New Orleans, Conneticut, and CA. Group divided into half using breakout rooms for 55 minutes. Topics included: talking with loved ones, our children and parents about dying and death. Fears of dying and death. A support system arranged for our time of dying. Maintaing our dignity and capacity. End of life relationship with Medical teams.
