Eine sehr spannende große Gruppe und dazu auch noch jung. Viel Input von der Expertin und der Filmemacherin. Jede und jeder hatte ausreichend Zeit zum Erzählen oder auch nur Zuhören. Die unterschiedlichen Betrachtungen, Erlebnisse und Schilderungen ergreifen mich jedesmal aufs Neue.

At our virtual meeting we talked a lot about the big goodbye to our beloved animal companions. I have been reflecting on the legacy of Bernard Crettaz, born 29 May 1938, who died on 28 November 2022 aged 84. Over carrot cake, vegan choclolate cookies and tea 19 of us discussed a range of topics from how climate change might affect how-when we die, what do you say when talking to a friend who is grieving (listen!), and the widespread misperception that dying makes you a saint (it just isn't so!). We discussed the range of feelings that arise after a loved one dies--not.much different than the range of feelings we had when they were alive. We also talked about green burial options in Oregon and SW Washington.

Fourteen death curious folks joined us for tea, cookies, and chat about all things dying. There was a mix of people, some new to Death Cafe.
We split into two groups after our intial intro circle, and joined back together for the last half hour.

My name is Jasmin McGee... my heart is so full, and I am so humbled that my very first Peace with Death Cafe gathering was a success! PJ's Coffee in Spring Branch, TX was amazing and so hospitable. We were all comfortable and had the back corner all to ourselves. We discussed the Community Agreements. We had coffee and King Cake provided by PJ's Coffee. We shared and held space for one another. - Where do we go in that last ebbing time?
- Where do we go as a generation taking care of older parents- while aging ourselves?
- Where do we go in making living communities that help people have their best last years of this life?
