About Hospice SLO County:
At Hospice of San Luis Obispo County, we believe that no one should have to face death, serious illness or grief by themselves. It's that belief that has motivated our staff and volunteers to serve our Central Coast community since its incorporation in 1977.
Hospice of SLO County supports the community in coping with loss and promoting healing by providing counseling, community education and volunteer support to those grieving a death or dealing with potential end of life issues. All services provided by Hospice SLO County are without charge.
We serve the county of San Luis Obispo in California.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
At Hospice SLO County our staff and volunteers are often called upon to provide support to individuals their families and friends while they are in the midst of dying, imminent death or grieving. It is too often that these individuals have spent their lives without much thought or any conversation about how they want their dying or death to be. What support they would want. What choices they would want to have and what is important or concerning for them. These are not deathbed conversations. They are vital living conversations that impact how we live and care for ourselves, each other and the world around us.
