About this Death Cafe
Death Cafe' is an opportunity for candid, thoughtful, respectful and provocative discussions about a topic often not talked about - death and its impact on us. There is no agenda, no sales pitch and no preconceived "right" answers.
Death Cafe is not a grief support group or a therapy group. It is a discussion group for people who have been living their lives without thinking much about dying or death or for those who are beginning to think about it.
About Hospice of SLO County
Hospice SLO has been serving San Luis Obispo County since its incorporation in 1977. A cornerstone of the organizition's mission has been to provide education and opportunities to increase personal awareness and understanding about dying and death in our community. As a hospice organization providing support for families during times of imminent death or during grief, we know how important consciousness of the finite nature of our lives can be in aiding our living it more richly, ability to care for one another more fully and to make choices that are in accord with who we are.
