About Sarah Corrin, RCC:
I am a therapist living and working in the unceded and ancestral lands of the Quw'utsun peoples, also known as the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. I have worked for over twenty years in the areas of somatic therapy for complex trauma and also facilitate groups for those with life-limiting illnesses. I am interested in the spiritual transformation and growth of individuals through their experiences of trauma, loss/death, and through the natural arc and development across the life-span. I weave in energy modalities, such as Qi Qong, Conscious Connected Breathwork, nature-based wisdom and therapeutic touch into my life and work with individuals and in community.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
The birth and death of my son opened me to the experiences of profound love and loss, and the expdrience of living with his life-limiting illness over many years. Living in that fragile place between life and death for many years alongside my son gave me a deep appreciation for how living close with an awareness of death opened me and my family up to experience deep peace, presence, profound love, gratitude and a clarity for what really matters in my life. I also participated in another Death Cafe (check out Denise Leong's Zen Death Cafe) that was such a beautiful experience of creating a space to presence death and dying, I was inspired to contribute to creating a similar, but in-person, offering where I live.
