About Death Cafe Dublin:
I facilitate community engagement professionally and enjoy creating spaces where people can connect through honest and meaningful conversations. Originally from Brazil and living in Ireland for the past 15 years, I have worked to foster inclusion and connection between the Brazilian and Irish communities. I am an independent researcher in death and dying, a Family Constellations facilitator, and a psychotherapy student. I'm passionate about creating spaces where we can explore death with curiosity, openness, and compassion, recognising that these conversations often help us appreciate life more deeply.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
Death and dying are the only certainties we have in life, yet many people still feel uncomfortable talking about them. I would like to have a space where I can speak openly and honestly about death and dying.
I’ve tried to have these conversations with friends and family, but most people avoid the subject or feel uncomfortable. I believe these conversations are important because they help us understand life, loss, fear, and connection in a deeper way.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I would like to leave a positive impact through my interactions with people. I believe my legacy will be less about what I said I would do, and more about how I lived, how I cared for others, and the connections I created along the way.
Thoughts for sharing:
Death is not the end, but a change of state, like sleep passing into another kind of waking.
