About Alpha Omega Remedies of Grace and Doula Services:

Hi! I am Crystal, I’m a Jesus loving wife (of a pastor/security director for WVU), mom of 7 (mostly grown except for two second generation children!), Nena of one, fur mom of two kitties and a Great Dane, nurse, homeschool mom who recently opened a holistic practice back in October.

My journey in healthcare formally began about 24 years ago. I started my career as a care taker/ home health aid in 1999. In 2005 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant for a local Long Term Care facility. In 2008 I began nursing school and officially became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2009. I started my Nursing career in Correctional Nursing which lasted about 6 years and ended as a Health Service Administrator of a 500 bed facility as well as a 25 bed Juvenile Center. I followed my Correctional Nursing career with a small stent in Dermatology as well as Long Term Care again, this time as a Nurse/Care Plan Coordinator which then lead me to my love of Hospice where I have been serving as a Hospice Nurse for over 4 years with the couple of years as an on call/critical care nurse. I was able to find love of holistic medicine during this time with those who have loved ones or themselves in palliative care and Hospice.

I’m recently certified (about 6 months) as a birthing/postpartum doula as well as end-of-life. I am also a student of the Certified Professional Midwife program.

I am also a student at Kingdom College of Natural Health for my Doctorate in Herbal Medicine, this allows me additional perspectives into the world of holistic/herbal medicine, preparation & options. It will also help me to learn what is safe for women at all stages of life, especially birth and postpartum. I still plan to be in the end-of-life realm as well so this is important here for people looking to remain natural in their passing.

My eventual goal when working with families and/or individuals is to reach a place of peace and healing of ailments naturally as well as assisting with new life and with the difficult road ahead of end of life. Both of which are very similar in nature as our bodies really do know what to do and I want to encourage that empowerment with my clients.

I was initially able to start this holistic practice with the use of aromatherapy. So one of my basic specialties is the AromaTouch technique sessions which you can scroll my page and find more about those. AromaTouch is really a great way to put the body back into homeostasis and I do recommend this as a base treatment for whatever issue you may be dealing with (physical, emotional, or even spiritual).

My husband also offers chaplaincy services as part of any of our packages because we fully believe that holistic health very much involves the spiritual side! Our goal really is to glorify God with our ability to be used as vessels and help clients with their health.

I am also certified as an instructor for a program founded by Grace Midwifery called Maidens by His Design. This is an excellent curriculum designed by Doran Richards for young ladies that teaches how God has fearfully and wonderfully created their bodies. It is a godly approach to teaching daughters 8 and up how their bodies are created to function. This is just one of several workshops that are also available through this holistic practice.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I want to provide more communication about the elephant in the room known as death.

What would you like your legacy to be?

To be known as one that lived her whole life for Christ and representing Him.

Thoughts for sharing:

The body will do what it is built to do, it is up to us how comfortable we want that to be.

Also, take one moment at a time because we do not know when it will be our last.

““So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:34‬ ‭
