About Annette J:

I am an independent artisan celebrant, Meditation & Mindfulness trainer, and  Pet Bereavement Counsellor.

In my celebrant role, my priority is always helping the families I support to create truly bespoke ceremonies for their loved ones, whatever this entails.

My three favourite words to say to a family are 'Yes, you can...!'

What brings you to Death Cafe?

Having been a funeral celebrant since 2016, I have seen the therapeutic and practical benefits of talking about death, before and after we lose a loved one. I've also witnessed the dying take comfort and relief from talking about their own end of life.

After experiencing more than my fair share of personal bereavements in recent years, I believe I have valuable professional and personal insights and perspectives to share.

As a consequence of all of the above, I now love creating compassionate spaces where we can talk openly about death and all of the issues surrounding it.

I passionately believe that lifting the taboos around death is enriching, enlightening and ultimately empowering. It can on occasion even be entertaining!

What would you like your legacy to be?

I would like to leave a legacy of kindness, courage and creativity.

Thoughts for sharing:

Tell me, what is it you plan to do

with your one wild and precious life…?
