About Anita Luby:

Redbridge Library Service based in East London is managed by Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure. It is the UK's first Death Positive public library service. We have a broad range of resources, events programme and staff to help you think and talk about death, dying and bereavement.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

We started hosting death cafes in our libraries about 5 years ago. In this time our work has expanded from death cafes to a range of other events, workshop and arts projects. We have seen first hand the positive impact the death cafes have had on those that attend.

What would you like your legacy to be?

We are hoping for more public libraries in the UK to join the death positive movement and to be hosting death cafes. Our death cafes have attracted a lot of attention from other library professionals and we have seen a move towards more and more offering them.

Thoughts for sharing:

'i feel so energised, I really didn't expect to be feeling like this!'

This was a comment left by a particpant who attended one of our death cafes. She was  there by accident (as she happened to be in the library at the time attending to other business) and didn't know what to expect at all
