About this Death Cafe
We welcome everyone to join us in a safe, supported and relaxed setting to join us in discussions about life, death and everything in between. Our Death Cafe's are intimate and friendly and if you prefer to listen then that's totally fine with us.
Our libraries are safe, non-judgemental places, open to all and are the perfect place to attend a death cafe. We are passionate about normalising conversations about death.
This Death Cafe is part of a wider Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival taking place in the library on the same day. You will be free to join in the rest of the festival activities before and after the death cafe.
About ANITA LUBY
Redibridge Libraries are the UK's first Death Positive Library Service. We have been hosting Death Cafe's in our libraries since 2016. We were funded by the Wellcome Trust and Carnegie Trust in 2017 to deliver our Final Party project which is aimed at sparking discussions about death and dying, life and living. Using our libraries as safe, trusted and unbiased spaces, we deliver events, workshops, exhibitions and arts installations which celebrate life and help break down taboos and remove barriers to talking about death.
