A write up of Indian River County Death Cafe

hello everyone, fall is upon us and our gatherings continue bi-monthly. we had a dynamic group this morning at our vero beach setting at the brackett library. some new faces and some return guests. our last gathering resulted in an additional write up in our local press journal paper regarding the cafe'. we think this brought some new faces. again, with angie at the helm, the conversation was left free form. it seems to be working well. there were a total of 13 people today. we are now attracting some younger participants as well. as we all know, death and religion are quite a tangled topic. our direction today seemed to go faith and death connections. there was plenty of respectful varying viewpoints. again today came the importance of pre planning and just how, what and where that all occurs. we even ventured briefly down the path of organ donation and autopsy. it seems the more we converse, the more questions we all stumble upon. the groups have all been understanding of the fact that we often have no facts. an effort to continue listing various reading materials that come up on our facebook page continues as well. we notice various members are bringing literature found locally to share with the group. all in all, there is positive feedback. the core group of four is planning a team meeting to set our schedule for 2014! we shall keep you posted. thank you
