April Death Cafe`
A write up of Online Death Cafe Iowa CST
Our most recent Death Café was held April 15th, 2025 and we had 5 people in attendance. This month we went over a wide variety of topics. We discussed how much we appreciate our lives and good health, especially when seeing those around us who may be struggling with different things. One key question that was brought up in this group was “how do we know our work is done?”, and working on how we will leave this earth and what kind of impact or legacy we will leave behind once we are gone. A big topic we also discussed was finding support for grief in unconventional spaces. Examples that came about were a man finding support through a women’s support group, or a straight man finding support within a queer space. With examples of how accepted people are in these different spaces it shows how people who may be least expected to hold our pain could be the ones to help the most. This just touches the surface of the amazing conversations we had this month and we are excited to meet again at next month’s Death Café!
