About Yvonne Heath:
In 27 years of nursing I became disheartened by our society's death phobia. Our reluctance to talk about, plan and prepare for grief, death and dying causes excessive suffering. My goal is to help change that. Through writing my book entitled "Love Your Life to Death", speaking, a website, Facebook page, newsletter and hosting a Death Cafe, I want to help bring death out of the darkness and into our conversations. Only then can we live well and die well.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I love the concept of providing a safe place for people to come together to discuss their fears, to be supported and to created compassionate community. We need this most when it comes to death and dying and the journey of grief that follows.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I wish to leave a legacy of gratitude and love. I wish to be the change that I wanted to see in the world, to have done my part to help people to live well and to die well. And I want to structure my life is such a way that I will be grieved, but that my loved ones can go on without me, and find happiness again.
