How do we live the death of our loved ones? is it different if the person has  died of natural or accidentally causes?, and with regard to my own death ... how do I want to be remembered? These were some of the questions that accompanied us in the third Death Cafe in Cali, Colombia. We also talked about how attachments, especially to life itself, can influence the experience of dying. During the meeting there were also dilemmatic issues that emerged such as the paradox of giving life through death when it comes to donating our organs, and the question of the value of life when it comes to ...

On this occasion four people joined us. It took us a little while to break the ice and warm up. However,  as some concerns were resolved such as, What is a Death Cafe?, it made it easier to intervene, allowing the meeting to flow with an attitude of respect and good listening. The predominant topic was the narratives of death that had happened in the families of some of the participants. Also, there was a space to reflect on the influence that the Death Cafe has in the personal life of each one.

Many people were interested in attending the first Death Cafe in Cali, Colombia, as a new proposal in the city; finally, about 10 guests participated in this meeting. The food had a key role to break the ice, once attendees shared it, they began to speak. Discussion on topics such as the death of another being, grief, how to live knowing that we will die, and what is said of death in everyday contexts, such as medical centers and schools. Also, there were interventions on the relationship of death with mystical, religious beliefs, and the here and now. The group regulated itself, giving an opportunity to each participant ...
