About Jos Hadfield:

Beginnings and endings are all around us in nature and in pretty much every aspect of our lives.

Through my practice of t'ai chi I have been encouraged to be ready for anything. Indeed all martial arts are effectively a preparation to face death at any moment.

My current training is taking me further into exploring the end phases of life, to better understand the reality of death.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

With the arrival of the next generation within our family, it seems apposite to also celebrate the other end of this life cycle.

What better way to share questions and experience of life and death, than with others in convivial surroundings.

What would you like your legacy to be?

In realising my true potential, I will have shared all riches that have come my way, with joy and laughter.

Thoughts for sharing:

"If we really faced our fear of death.. our lives would ultimately be lighter and more joyful." Larry Rosenberg

"Just remember that everyone you encounter today, everyone you see, will someday have to die." Carlos Castaneda

"Life is so fragile: just a piece of breath, out and in." Ven Lama Karma Samten

"Water is free from the birth and death of a wave." Thich Nhat Hanh
