About The Grief Garden CIC:
Located within Living Potential Community Gardens, The Grief Garden CIC is a community-led project that invites people who are experiencing grief to work together to co-create a garden as a place of acceptance, connection and healing. In the garden, people are welcome to express and explore their grief in ways that feel good to them, whilst designing, producing and caring for an evolving garden for the emerging community.
The project focuses on both the process of co-creating a garden, alongside the garden itself, as a space for healing both individually and collectively. It does this through exploring the reciprocal relationship between grief and the natural world, inviting humans and nature to support each other. The garden hopes to make space for grief to be, without pressure to ‘get better’, and hopes to normalise conversations about death and grief within society.
People who are experiencing grief are invited to attend a weekly gardening group and become a part of a peer to peer support group of budding horticulturalists. The Grief Garden also hosts a variety of different events and workshops about death, dying and grief.
