About Terry C:

I’m Terry, and I come to this work with over 25 years of experience in caregiving and hospice. I recently became a certified end-of-life specialist, and I’m passionate about creating spaces for honest, open conversations around death and dying. Hosting a Death Café feels like a natural extension of my journey—offering a place where we can connect, reflect, and share without fear or judgment.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

After 25 years in caregiving and hospice, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is to talk openly about death. I recently received my end-of-life certification, and hosting a Death Café feels like a natural next step. I’m drawn to creating space where people can share, listen, and connect without fear—because these conversations matter.

What would you like your legacy to be?

I’d like my legacy right now to be one of presence, compassion, and honesty—helping others feel less alone when facing life’s hardest conversations. After decades in caregiving and hospice, I’ve learned that listening—truly listening—is one of the greatest gifts we can give. If I can hold space for even one person to feel seen, heard, or comforted in this life or the next, that’s a legacy I’m proud of.

Thoughts for sharing:

After 25 years in caregiving and hospice, I’ve come to believe that talking about death is one of the most life-affirming things we can do. I recently became certified in end-of-life care, and I’m drawn to Death Café because it offers a space for open, human conversations—something our world deeply needs. As Ram Dass said, “We’re all just walking each other home.” That quote has always stayed with me, and it’s the spirit I hope to bring into these gatherings.
