About the LYH Death Cafe

The Lynchburg Death Cafe is a death-positive discussion space focused on open, honest conversations about death, dying, and end-of-life topics in the Downtown Lynchburg, Virginia area.

When active, we meet in person on the last Monday of each month at Old City Cemetery.

Death Cafe aims to normalize conversations about death and dying, shifting them from fear and avoidance toward familiarity and comfort.

This is a discussion group, not a bereavement support group or grief counseling service. Death Cafe does not seek to lead participants toward any specific belief, conclusion, product, or course of action.

Our public meetups are open to and respectful of people from all communities and belief systems. When gatherings resume, updated dates, times, and locations will be shared online.
