About Mala Malani:

My ancestral home is India and this is an important part of who I am. I live in London and this is also an important part of who I am.

I have been a psychotherapist for 25 years and believe in creating safe spaces to explore all kinds of difficult conversations.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

Death has increasingly become a taboo subject and as it’s the only thing we are all going to face I want to open up the dialogue in this area where possible.

I was lucky enough to have a dad who talked openly about death, dying, fears and anxieties and even with a sense of humour.  On reflection that was incredibly helpful to me and others in my family when he died.

Making connections, sharing thoughts, experiences and anxieties can be incredibly helpful and supportive.

Thoughts for sharing:

I think talking about death, allowing ourselves to be conscious of this reality is far from morose in fact it more fully connects us to life and living.
