About Ashley Wolfe:
Ashley Wolfe is a Death Care Doula and Child Life Specialist supporting families in grief since 2007 on Oahu in hospitals, hospice and private practice. She holds monthly death cafes and grief support groups at Sunset Therapy Center in hopes to contribute death and grief care fluency in her community.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I'd like anyone who has known me to have felt loved, to know they are a sacred being worthy of respect and dignity and that their life and death matters deeply in this realm and into the next.
Thoughts for sharing:
I believe that all feelings are meant to be felt not fixed. That's one of the reasons I love the model of the Death Cafe as an open, non directed conversation. No one is trying to "fix" anything, we are just witnessing the stories and feelings shared about death. The human experience of death connects us all and often there are very big feelings around it. In this setting, we are able to voice these feelings and experiences without fear of judgement, spiritual bypassing or dismissal. Each cafe I've hosted has held curiosity, respect and a sacred reverence for the mystery of what awaits us all.
