About Laavanya:
I am a health care professional with a wide range of experience in health care from working with the elderly to mental health advocacy, awareness and education in the South Asian American community. I believe death is a sacred passage which everyone should transition to with the utmost grace and love. Yet, we live in a society which ignores the very last part of our journey on Earth. I feel Death Cafe is a safe space to have important conversations about death and dying.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
We live in a society which denies the reality of death. I feel Death Cafe is a safe space to have important conversations about death and dying. I especially hope to encourage people to share their own feelings and opinions about death in a non-judgemental and compassionate space.
What would you like your legacy to be?
That I have touched even one life in a meaningful way.
