About Benjamin Hanes:
Hello there! I am a small business owner and massage and bodywork educator out of the Greater Chicagoland Noethwest Indiana area.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
After losing my father to cancer in 2015 I realized there is a huge disconnect within our part of the world as it relates to comfortablity discussing subjects related to death And dying. I am here to support the cause and contribute another venue for those needing this place to talk about their feelings and ideas surrounding Death.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I wish to be remembered as a true free spirit with A profound respect for the earth and all that live upon it.
Thoughts for sharing:
Tis a Fearful Thing
‘Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.
A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be –
to be,
And oh, to lose.
A thing for fools, this,
And a holy thing,
a holy thing
to love.
For your life has lived in me,
your laugh once lifted me,
your word was gift to me.
To remember this brings painful joy.
‘Tis a human thing, love,
a holy thing, to love
what death has touched.
