About Death Café Comox Valley :
Linda has worked and Anne has volunteered in Palliative Care . Sarah is a Death Doulah. We are all passionate about end of life subjects for discussion.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
We have attended other Death Cafés on Vancouver Island. We find them interesting and thought provoking. And, FUN. People keep requesting more Death Cafés on our brief evaluation forms..
What would you like your legacy to be?
That attendee find the process interesting and learn from one another and find the experience meaningful. For those unaccustomed to talking about end of life issues, that they become more comfortable looking at their own mortality.
People being able to create beautiful end of life experiences for themselves, according to their own wishes and not be burdened by denial of the death process or fear of pain and the unknown.
And finally, for those fearing being alone in the end, that they may have a compassionate someone being present for them when their time comes.
Thoughts for sharing:
"I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.”
Woody Allen
