Today's participants were a mixture of medical students from the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year. We talked about our own experiences of death, both medical and personal, in a care free manner with occasional laughter.
A few topics that arose in the discussion were the lack of knowledge about the palliative care profession and also lack of a good salary in Japan. Yet most of the participants expressed an interest in working in palliative care with psychiatry as a subinterest.
