About Mahtay Cafe

Facilitated by Merri-Lee Agar, founder of Niagara Death Cafe. Merri-Lee is a Death Doula, Bereavement Specialist and Reiki Master who answered her calling to serve the dying and their loved ones after companioning her own mother on her dying journey. In this work, she found that there is little room for open dialogue about dying and death, but many people do want the opportunity to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs and fears. Merri-Lee founded Niagara Death Cafe in January 2017 and has held 7 Death Cafes to date.
