About this Death Cafe
I believe the way we live is the way we die. When we decide to live well, we decide to die well. Allowing us to leave the world a better place. I accept those we leave behind will be saddened by our loss. Our 'heart’s' job is to love one another. With death the heart feels sadness.
It's our responsibility to care for people who are bereaved and to return them back to their life's purpose. Death Café is a powerful platform that truly embraces our tranformation & transition.
About Hasina Zaman, CEO Compassionate Funerals
Working in partnership with Redbridge Libraries to host Death Cafes.
In May 2015, my eldest brother died, I led his funeral and in his memory hosted a Death Café. The theme that evolved was the journey of the soul.
Hosting Death Cafes allowed has me to experience and embrace difficult conversations on death & dying. Death Cafe attracts people from all walks of life who share their experience of personal bereavement, planning our departure, feelings about their own death and different types of death, i.e. suicide, accidental, baby/child to sudden deaths. Death Café is an open and safe space that allows people to explore deep unresolved experiences and can be a hugely healing. Each Death Cafe usually has a natural occurring theme.
