About this Death Cafe

We have experienced loss both professionally and personally,and welcome the opportunity to celebrate our lives by engaging in honest and open discussions in an informal setting. 

Lifeways is the perfect venue for our meetings, with the warm atmosphere of a family home. Some street parking is available, and there is a car park close by in Rother Street.

Our format is informal, however seating is limited, so please RSVP through the form on this page or via email to: glynis.fletcher@talk21.com

We plan to run our gatherings monthly, on the 2nd Sunday of the month. So if you can't join us in January, we look forward to meeting you over tea and cake very soon. 

About Glynis Fletcher and Gillian James

Glynis is a counsellor and supervisor. She has worked in the area of palliative care and bereavement with hospice staff, adults and children.  She celebrates life by running open-access choirs, and is passionate about breaking down the taboo associated with death and dying.  

Gillian is a retired Nurse and Midwife, and is now a practicing counsellor, supervisor and trainer. She worked for many years in a local hospice with people who were approaching the end of their life and also with their families, friends and children. Gillian is an experienced group facilitator and loves life, but is not afraid of talking about death and dying.
