About this Death Cafe
Death cafe is a community space for discussion of all aspects of death, dying, and living with the conscious awareness of death. We hold a group-oriented discussion with no specific agenda or biases. It is just a space for people to openly share ideas, feelings, experiences, questions, concerns and honor death in order to make the most of their finite lives.
About Maggie and Sharon
Maggie Boone Tribout is a retired professor in the psychology department at Southwestern Illinois College, online faculty member for the University of Phoenix in the social sciences department, and an Advocate Trainer for Southwestern Illinois CASA.
Sharon Egler is a retired nurse that worked with the terminally ill and other aspects of pallative care. She is the owner/operator of the Miscellanea House Cafe.
