About this Death Cafe
Our purpose is to help people come to terms with death. We are not a support group. We are a discussion group that talks about all aspects of death to help people overcome their fear. Death is inevitable and once a person accepts that, they can focus on living their lives to the fullest.
About Maggie and Sharon
Maggie is a retired teacher who has taught a variety of psychology courses, including Death & Dying. She is also an Advocate trainer and active volunteer for CASA of Southwestern Illinois (for those who do not know what CASA does, it stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children in foster care).
Sharon is a retired nurse who has worked in pallative care as well as with terminal patients. She is also the owner/operator of the Miscellanea House Cafe
