About this Death Cafe

We need to talk more about Death, and lots of people want to! We do just that and leave feeling a lot lighter. We run it in a lovely public community space which is also a gallery for local artists. The union Unite sponsor the hire of the space, and Co-op provide us with free refreshments. We run 4 Death cafes a year but are hoping to make them more regular. 

About no.28 Market Place

The Death cafe is managed and delivered by a great team: Kate Stoddart, facilitator, is a humanist wedding and funeral celebrant, with an arts background.  Anne Sadler, a commnunity champion  brought the DC to Belper after her daughter in London ran some of the early Death cafes through NHS networks, and helped her to do the first few in Belper.  Christine Jordan, arranges bookings, another wonderful community person, who also liaises with sponsor, welcomes people in and supports the facilitator.
