About this Death Cafe
We believe that conversations about death should be a natural part of community. Our goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where people can explore thoughts, questions, and experiences around death, dying, grief, and living without judgment or expectation.
Our Death Café follows the international Death Café model: there is no agenda, lecture, or therapy. The conversation is participant-led, and everyone is welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
Through Good Grief Women, we hope to build an ongoing community in Miami, FL where honest conversations about mortality help us feel more connected, compassionate, and present in our lives.
This event is free and open to the community. Light refreshments will be served.
About Aliyah and Tia
Aliyah is a therapist, death doula, and lifelong learner in the field of death and grief. She is passionate about making conversations about death more accessible, less taboo, and rooted in curiosity rather than fear.
Tia is a Miami community organizer, advocate, DJ, and facilitator whose work centers on bringing people together through culture, conversation, and collective care. She believes community is one of our greatest resources for healing, connection and libration.
Together, they created Good Grief Women to host community Death Cafés; free, welcoming conversations where anyone can explore topics of death, dying, grief, and living with openness, curiosity, and without judgment.
