An Online Death Cafe

About this Death Cafe

The Mindful End of Life Death Café takes place on the last Thursday of each month 9:30pm UK & 4:30pm EST.

It offers a warm, welcoming space for open conversation about death, dying, and the realities we all share. Together, we create a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where people can speak freely, listen deeply, share experiences, or simply sit and reflect. Whether you come with questions, thoughts, or quiet curiosity, you are warmly welcome.

About Bob Chiang & Choshin Blackburn

Bob Chiang is an end-of-life doula and mindfulness practitioner who supports individuals and families through the challenges of death and dying with compassion and practical care. His work draws on mindfulness and contemplative practice to create safe spaces for open conversation about death, impermanence, and living well. Bob is a member of End of Life Doula UK (EOLDUK) and a mentor.

Chôshin has supported Shinzen Young’s retreat work for over 30 years, managing residential and virtual retreats and continuing to oversee programs within the Unified Mindfulness community through Vipassana Support International (VSI). Her interest in end-of-life care developed through caring for family members and attending Death Cafés, leading her to study Thanatology and End-of-Life care. She now integrates this training with mindfulness meditation in her work as a Thana Doula. Chôshin is based in Canada, and enjoys gardening, music, reading, dancing, and time with family.
