About this Death Cafe

This cafe will be run within a women's open prison for prisoners to attend to discuss and share their experiences around bereavmeent and loss. By using the death cafe model, it can help people move through death anxities and other worries away from the medical or theraputic models, which can sometimes put barriers up. 

Thisis not therapy - this is a facilitated group of sharing, where the attendees take the lead.

Candy is a staff nurse within the prison service. She held Death Cafes for 3 years in the Medway, UK community and online through covid, but is now moving to hosting death cafes within the prison service to support prisoners and their complicated relationships with greif, death and dying.
