When I first started hosting Death Cafes in Bucharest, there were none in Romania. Years later, these gatherings continue to offer a space for open, meaningful, and even uplifting conversations about death—something that, no matter where we live, touches us all.

If you've never attended a Death Cafe, the atmosphere is relaxed and often surprisingly lighthearted. Every session has left people feeling more at ease, connected, and reflective.

After attending several Death Cafes in London, I felt inspired to bring this initiative to Bucharest. Over the past few years, hosting these gatherings has been a deeply meaningful experience—for myself and for those who have joined. The conversations we've shared have helped to normalize discussions about death, offering a space for reflection, connection, and personal growth.

I’m a Romanian-British citizen who spent over a decade in the UK before returning to Romania. My background is in television, but I’m equally passionate about travel, volunteer work, and projects that foster open, meaningful dialogue—like this one.
