About this Death Cafe

We are proud to partner with the Atlanta Humane Society and their new Perry Blvd location for this Death Cafe! This event is casual, inclusive, and pressure-free. Talking about death has been taboo for too long. When we shy away from the conversation out of fear, we miss so much of value. Come meet some like-minded people and talk about death, or just listen. Light snacks and cake will be served.

About Mailey McLaughlin

Mailey McLaughlin, M.Ed. was the Animal Behavior and Training Manager for the Atlanta Humane Society for 21 years until she decided to pursue and 2nd career in funeral service. In addition to owning her own dog training company, The Pooch Professor, she is currently in college for mortuary science and pursuing an apprenticeship to gain her Funeral Director license. She has been intrigued by death work from a young age, and is especially excited by the many alternatives to traditional burial and heat cremation that are becoming more widespread. She has attended scores of Death Cafes both in person and online, and has hosted several, as well. She is also a Living Funeral practitioner and a licensed wedding officiant.
