About this Death Cafe

The DAVID project (Dignity and Voices in Dying) was established following the tragic death of David, one of our members. David had no family and had not made any end of life plans. His death highlighted to our members the importance of ensuring that people with learning disabilities, their families and support networks are involved in discussions about death and dying, are given the information and support they need to make the key decisions about their end of life plans, from funeral planning, to will writing, choosing a coffin, to planning a wake.

We invite you to join us at The David project Death Cafe organised by and for people with learning disabilities, theirfamiliesand their carers. We provide a safe and relaxing space in which to share thoughts and ideas, memories and plans together, whilst enjoying tea and plenty of cake. we look forward to meeting you.
