About Luisa Fernanda Ruiz Montiel

Luisa Fernanda Ruiz Montiel was born in Mexico City. After 15 years of teaching Chemistry to High School students, she kept studying (Master´s Degree in Education, Master´s Degree in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and PhD in Thanatology).

 

In 2015 she held the first Death Café in Mexico City. In 2018-2019 she opened Death Cafés in Michoacan and Guanajuato states. And helped other people open Death Cafés in Jalisco and Sinaloa states. Since May 2020, she has been organizing Online Death Cafés in Spanish twice a month.

She is a facilitator in a Civil Association called Uno en Voluntad, which organizes courses to help people through the process of grief.

She also works for Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation in Mexico and is a facilitator of different courses related to grief and death.

 

For a year and a half worked in HOLA Hospice with people with chronic and terminal illnesses.r 10 years of being
