About this Death Cafe

Death cafe is a wonderful established way to open up conversations around death and dying. We have reached many many people who would otherwise have no space to openly talk about their thoughts and feelings around their own deaths, or those of others, without their being some barrier to what they could talk about. We love that we can simply hold space for anything that may come up. It’s a wonderful way for us to explore our own thoughts, too. We also can’t wait each month to spoil ourselves with cakes. 

About Candy and Natasha

Candy is an end of life Doula with End of life UK, and works within the NHS, and has run the Medway death cafe for over a year. 

Natasha is a pillar of the Medway community, using the arts to reach the disenfranchised and vulnerable, running several community events, and is currently gaining qualifications in and around death and dying and how to encorporate art into the process. 

They are both founding members of the Medway Brown Bread Collective, a group of individuals dedicated to opening up con versatile around grief, death and dying, and remove taboos which only cause detriment to mental and physical health and wellbeing.
