I can't believe that today marks ten years of Death Cafe - it feels like only yesterday when Jon and our Mum Susan were hosting the first event in Jon's basement. 

We never imagined that Death Cafe would go from one meeting in Hackney to thousands of events across the globe! Equally, we didn't imagine that Jon wouldn't be around to celebrate this momentous occasion. 

So I would like to dedicate this film, and Death Cafe's 10th birthday to my brother, Jon Underwood, who worked tirelessly and without any funding to set up this movement enabling hundreds of thousands of people to have meaningful conversations about death and dying over tea and delicious cake.

Please join me in raising a glass (or tea cup) to Jon and Death Cafe.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank every single host, attendee, media representative, student, patron and others who have supported us through some extremely turbulent times. Death Cafe continues because of you. 

And we couldn't be more grateful.
