My first online death cafe experience
A write up of Online Death Cafe MDT with Morbid Anatomy

While I had previously dabbled with Death Cafes in-person in Massachusetts US, but lost track when I switched states for work and even though I desired to connect with like minded folks in this space, things got lost in translation.
While visting the UK, I saw a virtual event on the deathcafe website that was happening on the same day I logged on and in an hour's time i.e. 11/16 and I hopped on - believing serendipidity.
The conversations were interesting and a mix of individuals with varied life experiences turned up. We talked about the process of how end of life doulas work, hospice care, whether journals when somebody has passed on, are fair game for public viewing or should we be respecting the privacy of the deceased.
I brought up my own experience of visiting cemeteries inspired post-Death Cafe and different people chimed in their own thoughts and experiences with the death of a loved one.
A lot of interesting resources were shared and we all left more knowledgeable after.
The event was nicely timed to be exactly 1 hour, otherwise it could have gone on for longer. What I really appreciated was that organizers gave everyone talk time. It showed inclusivity and also the ability to pull everyone in to share their own experiences.
If all goes well time wise I might attend another one.
