A write up of Death Cafe - Live Passionately, Die Imperturbably
We organized our first Death Cafe on Oct.7th, 2019.
During 3 hours, we talked a lot and discussed a lot about Death.
Participants are from different industries such as : psychological consultant, volunteer of hospice care, professor in university, producer from television station, managerial people from different companies… discussions started from near-death experience, several people who had such experience before shared what “death” like : soul flies out of the body and just like take off your jacket. This start made people feel that death seems not that horrible as expected.
“what will you do if you know you soon come to the end of your life?’ someone asked, it is actually a very good question, let us see different answers as following:
“It is lucky that I have chance to know the exact date of my life end, I am very grateful about it, I will prepare my will carefully and it is important to write down all password to my bank card…”
“I will donate my body to the doctors for them to do more research about human body and save more lives.”
“I will find a nice place which can enjoy warm sunshine, and leave the world peacefully by myself, with the sunshine”
“I will be with my beloved family members, just be with them, until the end of life”
“I am a materialist, I don’t believe soul or spirit, I will just take my parents to travel around until end of my life”
All the answers express the very deep love to our life, it is meaningful discussion that people understand that if we know we will do this and that by the end of life, why don’t we do it now?
We discuss death just want to live with full of love in our heart, in another saying, live passionately.
Luckily, there were no any arguments or confrontations in our death cafe discussion, we have different ideas about life about death, however, we understand our world is beautiful just because people think in diversified way. And we also adopt Death Cafe’s philosophy, we just discuss, we don’t judge we don’t lead and we don’t set up any definition, all thinking and ideas are permitted here.
