The Beyond

Singing to the dying, near death, loss of a beloved animal, loss of a close relative, death of someone you don't like, sensing the dead and hospice care are a few of the topics we touched upon at the first meeting of the Whitefish Death Cafe. It went Beyond anything I expected in the quality and openness of both the conversation and attendees. My little family just experienced a death days ago and yet I left the room feeling invigorated, hopeful, looking forward to the next meeting. The facilitator Nancy was superb. I highly recommend this group.

How fun to go to this page to compose a writeup and discover that Constance has already done so! As a newbie facilitator, I was very pleased and touched by how our Death Café went. We had 10 hardy people who showed up despite freezing temps and snow here in NW Montana. Everyone was respectful, insightful, honest, and open--what a delight. As Constance said, we covered a host of topics--including the question "what is a 'good death'"--all of which warranted more discussion. I'm grateful for such a wise group and am eagerly anticipating the next gathering, which I plan to have in mid-Jan.

Is it possible to attend online? I haven’t found a meeting in CT yet and I’m eager to participate.
