About Caroline Dent:
I have been on a journey of enquiry into what death is my whole life.
I experienced death anxiety (thanataphobia) as a small child, and this led to a journey of enquiry that has spanned the last 30 years.
I trained as an End of Life Doula (someone who companions people at the end of life ) providing a compassionate presence, practical help and continuity, during what can feel like a very chaotic time.
I have volunteered with Marie Curie, Islington Bereavment Service and Maytree respite centre for suicidal people, and have been involved with the Death cafe movement since 2013
I now also run Death cafes online for people suffering from thanataphobia (fear of death). They are known as Thanataphobia Cafes.
believe that by bringing our concious awareness to this oft maligned subject, we can begin to liberate ourselves from fear of death, hopefully enabling us to live more fully.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I would also like to be known as someone who helped people alleviate their fear of death
Thoughts for sharing:
Get curious about death before death gets curious about you
Don't believe everything you fear

This is a piece I wrote about my journey of death anxiety :
FROM FEAR TO HERE BY Caroline Rosie Dent
The Buddhists say two things are certain in life:
We’re all going to die.
We don’t know when.
I shared this with a friend once, as he was leaving my house; it was one of the last things I said to him. He died suddenly shortly after. Like me, he was somewhat death-phobic ...
