What brings you to Death Cafe?
I have seen death in my work in hospitals. I have seen the pain and confusion when conversations about death and dying are left until the very end. Death is so often hidden away in hospitals, but it touches us all, and belongs to us all. Meeting Jon Underwood and attending Death Cafe's have helped me think about my own fears and feelings around death. Every Death Cafe has been meaningful and life-affirming. Some have been emotional, others hilarious. They have inspired me to help give death back to the community.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I'm still deciding!

"A physician can sometimes parry the scythe of death, but has no power over the sand in the hour-glass." Hester Lynch Piozzi (1781).
"For those who seek to understand it, death is a highly creative force. The highest spiritual values of life can originate from the thought and study of death." Elizabeth Kubler-Ross (1975)

I took this self-portrait photograph in a waterfall. It made me think about my own impermanence. Some day I will die, and my molecules will melt back into the background of the universe.
