Our 2nd cafe was held in a more private location, where conversation could be maximized and distractions limited. We had 14 participants and the feedback was quite positive and overwhelmingly requesting to hold DC monthly...which will be happening going forward in 2016.

 

Thank you to all that have provided positive feedback and constructive suggestions.

We had our 1st Death Cafe & planning our 2nd, great turnout of 14 people. However, 4 of those people left an hr into it, which cause a uncohesive flow & disrupted conversation. Two said they could not stay because of an appointment & the other 2 - used this as the opportunity to ...

This was Staten Island's First Death Café, although others had discussed it before. Some sitting right at this table with us!

 

Attending a Death Café prior to hosting one (even a virtual Death Café) was a plus, and the Death Café guidelines were amazing and so very helpful. This Café was held at Panera Bread, which is pretty public and open. Initially there was some apprehension about this, but it wound up being beneficial and drawing more people in. Individuals were waiting to talk with us, and they are interested in attending future Cafés. A shout out to the staff at Panera Bread at the Staten ...
