i'm a retired palliative care nurse now working as a funeral celebrant. Throughout all of my nursing, and now funeral celebrancy it keeps coming back to the same thing - we need to reclaim death as a human event and get more comfortable talking about death.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
A passion for improving our comfort in talking about death. I've seen too many people suffer through not having conversation, not sharing their thoughts and wishes. It leaves pain and regret. I'd like to do what I can to ease that situation.
What would you like your legacy to be?
Be as honest and brave as you can. Trust that sharing with others leads to compassionate community.
