About Narumi I.S.:

After losing my beloved husband, I experienced profound grief. Yet in that grief, I also discovered many lessons about love, connection, and what it means to live fully. His love and his death continue to teach me every day. After attending several death cafes physically and virtually multiple times as a participant, I started my first Death Cafe on his birthday to honor him.

My background is in consulting and life coaching, but my personal journey after loss has led me to pursue psychology.

Thoughts for sharing:

In Japanese, the phrase “I miss you” is often translated as koishii, which also carries the meaning of “I love you.” To me, this shows how death and love are inseparable. Missing someone deeply is another way of saying that we love them. Death reminds us that love does not end.
