Wellness House of Annapolis provides free services and programs to those who have been touched by cancer. From support groups for children, teens, and adults to healthy living services such as yoga, reiki, meditation, and therapeutic art classes, our goal is to help you and your loved ones find the strength and support you need to focus on recovery and healing.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
As part of the Wellness House of Annapolis' mission to provide support services to our members navigating cancer, offering a death cafe creates a safe place for individuals to share about their journey with death, ask questions, and connect with one another. The Wellness House is commited to offering a death positive space where members are empowered to live and die more conciously, peacfully, and authentically.
What would you like your legacy to be?
Supporting authentic conversations about death to decrease fear and anxiety and increase a sense of joy and purpose in living.
Thoughts for sharing:
We recognize that experiencing a life threatening illness changes the way our members relate to death. Whether they are the individual diagnosed with cancer, a family member, experiencing late stage disease, or in full remission, cancer changes how a person sees their life. Questions, fear, a drive for deeper pupose and understanding can all be part of the changes that happen on the cancer journey. By offering a place to explore their mortality, discuss the "big" questions, a receive support from one another in the process, the Wellness House provides a way for members to know themselves more fully, prepare for death actively, and increase fullfillment and joy in living.
