About Ann Cox:
Hello
I am a woman who believes that a hospital room is the last past I would want to be when I go. With support, I and others can have a better experience.
My background is a family member, a carer, a mum, community member and a counsellor. I have been trained as an End of Life Doula, part of a team of Doulas, I work on discusions and education. Both group and indiividuals.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I have had the pleasure to have lived experience of being a carer and working in end of life care from time to time. After seeing a beautiful supported death (palliative care) at home of my Grandmother, I decided to learn more about it, and now I find myself part of a team discussing and educating others.
What would you like your legacy to be?
That I made families feel comfortable to have enouh support to have their loved one at home with them as long as possible. To enjoy a normal life with family, friends and pets around till their peaceful last day.
Thoughts for sharing:
I have found comfort in unexpected places and during difficult moments, the beauty lies in being there in those moments, with other or alone - just being. Your presence alone is enough.
